The Camping Sass Dlacia campground lies in a picturesque location amid pristine alpine woods, gentle pastures, and tiny streams, in the centre of an area renowned for glorious ski runs and some of the best hiking trails in Europe: San Cassiano in Alta Badia, in the heart of the Dolomites.

Our campground lies at the foot of the majestic Dolomite peaks of Sass Dlacia (from which it takes its name), Conturines, and Lavarela and at the gates of the Fanes - Sennes - Prags Nature Park. This location makes it the perfect starting point for an endless variety of easy, family-friendly hikes, breathtaking rock climbing routes, thrilling hiking itineraries or mountain-bike excursions through the woods and mountains of Alta Badia valley. The "Armentarola" skilift is only 1 km away from the campground providing access to the 1,200 km (745 mi) of fabulous ski runs of the Alta Badia  and Dolomiti Superski ski areas. But skiing is just one of the countless activities San Cassiano has to offer during winter: snow shoe excursions on fresh snow amid unspoiled mountain landscapes, cross country skiing runs that start directly from Camping Sass Dlacia, ice climbing at the nearby Scotoni peak, easy hikes in the nature for the whole family.

Sas Dlacia is the steep cliff that rises from the woods in the Sciaré – Armentarola area, where the campground of the same name lies. "Sas Dlacia" means “icy rock” in the local Ladin language. The name of the area itself, Armentarola, was the ancient name of the tiny hamlet of San Cassiano (Ladin: San Ciascian). It means “small bovine pasture” in Ladin. In this green area you can enjoy countless recreational activities, and various huts and restaurants where you can taste the renowned South Tyrolean cuisine. The village of San Cassiano (3 km/1.9 mi from the campground) is the place to be if you want to take a lovely evening stroll in the pedestrian area, amid cosy bars and charming shops.
